THERMOCHROMIC Inks

Inks that change in color as the temperature changes.

Below the activation temperature Thermochromic Inks are coloured, and above the activation temperature they are clear or lightly coloured. As the Ink cools, the original colour returns.

Thermochromic Inks can be modified to change colours at a variety of different temperatures.

> LOW TEMPERATURE INKS: Used in applications where a product is chilled and special messaging to consumer is wanted.

For example: assorted packaging intended for the refigerator and/or freezer, cold-temperature indicators for cold packaging, beverage labels and ice-cream packaging.

> BODY TEMPERATURE INKS: Designed to show colour at normal room temperature and to disappear or change colours when heated up. this can be done by rubbing, breathing or otherwise heating up a printed substrate.

For example: Checks, secure documents, interactive direct-mail documents, magazine inserts, media packaging, labels & receipt tape with unique interactive consumer experience.

> HIGH TEMPERATURE INK: This formulation disappears or changes colur when heated up. For example: Great safty feature on labels for microwaveable products and hot beverages.

*ACTIVATION TEMPERATURES:

Standard Temperatures: 8, 12, 15C, 31C (body-heat activated), & 45C

Custom Temperatures (upon request): between -5C & 65C
